The A.A. Capital District Central Office Newsletter

Here's what's going on......

There are in-person and virtual Alcathons for Christmas and New Years this year. They are being held in Districts 1,2, 3, 5, 7,17, and 18. And that's just what we're aware of - there could be more. So be on the lookout.

The Central Office will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The Helpline will always be open.

Area events coming up early next year include Orientation Day on January 15th, and the Delegate's Day of Sharing on March 19th. We will be welcoming our new Area Delegate; Tammie E.

District 20 is now a reality. There is a new virtual district for online meetings associated with Area 48 NENY. The initial planning meeting was held, and the district will now hold its meetings on the 4th Friday of each month - via Zoom, of course.

If your virtual group is interested in establishing itself as an official District 20 entity, please have your group representative attend the monthly District Meeting - details will be included in the CDCO Events Calendar.

District 1 A.A. Public Information Holiday Campaign with the Albany Times Union.

District 1 is once again sponsoring a holiday campaign this year for persons who experience challenges during the holiday season.

A banner notice (below) will run in the online digital publication of the Albany Times during the holiday period. We all understand that Alcoholics Anonymous is a program of attraction, rather than promotion. Indeed, our primary purpose as alcoholics is to stay sober and to help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Persons who click on the banner will be taken to a special page on the Central Office Website in the hope that this link can serve as a link to break the cycle of pain.

Grapevine, monthly and annual medallions, and recovery greeting cards, all located at our office in Albany, NY! We accept Credit Cards, Cash, or Check.

The CDCO Monthly Reports:

Each month the Central Office publishes its operating reports. These include our financial report, meeting minutes, our literature report, and call reports relating to the volume, location, and type of calls. If you are interested, please check these out:

The CDCO is always in need of volunteers to help carry the message. You may know that we provide helpline services 24x7x365, but did you know that we are staffed entirely by A.A. volunteers? Please consider doing service in the coming year.

Our volunteers occasionally need to take time off and we could certainly use some backups to answer the phone in the evening, or pitch in at the CDCO during office hours.
