The A.A. Capital District Central Office Newsletter

Are we halfway through 2023 already? ...... and are we having fun yet? If we're maintaining our spiritual condition you can bet we're having a lot more fun than we otherwise would. Please remember our primary purpose.

Here's what's going on ......

Coming up very quickly is the 12 yr. group anniversary of YES; Youth Enjoying Sobriety (District 3) this Friday in Catskill. On Saturday, the Inclusivity Committee holds its virtual panel workshop. Next week, June 24th, it's the Joy of Service Day- hosted by the Hudson Valley Cluster.

The Southend Group (District 10) is hosting its 2nd annual Summer Kickoff on July 1st in Plattsburgh. The theme is: Attitude of Gratitude.

The CDCO is looking for steering committee volunteers. These positions focus on the newsletter, literature / bookstore, call reporting from both office and night owl volunteers. Other positions provide assistance in helping with website reports, and events updating.

It's all interesting stuff and does not take much time each month. Of course, we are always looking for volunteers to answer calls to the helpline, and to work occasional 4-hour shifts in the Central Office on Computer Drive in Albany, NY.

We're hoping to send out a Special Edition Service Volunteer Newsletter within the next week or so. We'd like to provide a background on the Intergroup/Central Office and our role in AA.
Please keep in mind that NENY Area 48 has a Technology Committee that meets on the third Tuesday of each month. This is an excellent way to participate in a type of service that is sure to broaden your horizons. Please plan on joining. The link is above. You don't have to be a techie - we need help all around.
    Daytime Office Volunteer:

The CDCO is in need of a service volunteer. Office Volunteers are AA members who answer the phones and greet and provide services to visitors to the Office during hours it is open. These volunteers maintain a log of calls received. They are elected by the CDCO membership. A minimum of one year of continuous sobriety is suggested for this position.

    The Delegate Connection

Our area delegate is a trusted servant elected to provide important leadership to A.A., tackle current issues, and to help the Fellowship prepare for the future.

Tammie E, Our NENY Area 48 delegate, attended the annual A.A. General Service Conference held April 23-30 in Brooklyn, NY. If you missed the May 14th Area 48 Assembly you can find Tammie's complete "72nd GSC Report back" on The Delegate Connection Website
